The volcano hike was my highlight, stunning scenery and awe inspiring. it was a busy day, taking in many other sites including the coast, bubbling mud pools, a lake, and quick stop at the Blue Lagoon. Our guide was very knowledgeable. At one point we saw a lava flow which had come to a halt and solidified within a few metres of two houses! Overall a highly recommend day trip experience from Reykjavik”

Guided Vatnajökull glacier hike from Jökulsárlón. Walk Breiðamerkurjökull with crampons, helmet, and harness included.

“Very well organized tour to the glaciers with unique monster trucks! The guide, Guilielmo, was friendly and knowledgeable. A bonus of the tour was decensing in an ice cave with ropes and seeing the bluish formations up close. The landscape is otherwise pretty unimpressive during summer, as you're walking on dirty ice and don't have a view of the nice icy formations that you see in the pictures. An added disappointment was finding out about the fast pace of melting, which actually makes these tours even more imperative to experience while they last!”

Each of the stops along the way was well timed and the guide was very knowledgeable about the history/facts of each sight. The highlight of this trip was definitely the glacier hike! “This Fagradalsfjall volcano hike with a geologist was one of the best things I did in Iceland. Our guide is a geologist and she was outstanding – incredibly knowledgeable, clear in her explanations, and genuinely kind. Throughout the hike she showed us different lava fields, explained how each eruption shaped the landscape, and pointed out details in the rocks I would never have noticed on my own. She answered every question with patience and enthusiasm, and you could really feel how much she loves her work. Reaching the viewpoint overlooking the crater while hearing her describe what had happened there made the whole scene come alive – it wasn’t just…”
